Odisha Assembly session starts from June 25th

The 16th Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin from June 25 where the state government will propose the annual budget for 2019-20 fiscal on June 28. The new Finance minister Niranjan Pujari will be presenting the budget in a session which will be conducted over 30 working days.

Governor Ganeshi Lal will address the house which will mark the beginning of the session. The election for the deputy speaker’s post will be held on June 27.

The BJP for the first time will take the role of the main opposition party in the House. Since the BJD government came to power in Odisha in 2000 Congress was the main opposition party in the Assembly. Jay Narayan Mishra and Pradipta Naik are in consideration for the post of leader of the opposition in the Assembly of the BJP legislature party
