Mo Sarkar and 5T to tighten the Odisha’s working system

The “Mo Sarkar” & “5T” initiative has been in full throttle since it’s launch. The private Secretary to CM and 5T secretary, VK Padian had taken some extreme steps of suspending officers during his survey of 14 districts he had visited the past few weeks. As the awareness and effects of 5T were seen in a widespread space another news of vigilance came under notice. Two officials, a district culture officer and an executive engineer have been caught in vigilance net overcharges of amassing disproportionate assets in the State.

Raids on the house and other properties of District Culture Officer, Dhenkanal, Sukru Swain, on charges of amassing asset disproportionate to his known sources of income, were conducted. Swain’s Dhenkanal office, government quarters in Bhubaneswar, an ancestral house in Berhampur are being raided by the team.

Similarly, a team has been raiding the residence and office of Basant Panda, an Executive Engineer working with the drainage division in Balasore. Raids are being conducted at his in-law’s house, parental house and a flat in Bhubaneswar.

Notably, a notice has been placed for consequences catering to the lapses in implementing the “Mo Sarkar” initiative, the feedback system, which finds its roots in the Gandhian philosophy of giving people a voice in governance.
