Renowned Litterateur Chandrasekhar Rath passes away at 89

ONI Bureau:  Eminent Litterateur Chandrasekhar Rath breathed his last in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Friday while undergoing treatment. He was 89. Rath was selected for Padma Shri this year.

The eminent litterateur has been conferred D. Litt. by Lucknow University and Utkal University of Culture and has received several prestigious awards including the Sarala Award and Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award. His name is an well-known name both in the field of fiction and non-fiction.

Rath has written many upanishads and poems apart from stories. He has also written three Novels named Yantrarudha, Asurya Upanivesh and Nav Jatak. Rath was also a creative artist, working with sculpture, painting and carving on wood and stone.
