Odisha Govt declares one-day State mourning in honour of Rabi Ray

Rabi Ray 1Odisha Government has declared one day State mourning as mark of respect to the former Lok Sabha Speaker Rabi Ray on Tuesday. An official statement issued by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday.

The National Flag will be flown at half-mast across all government offices for the day in honour of eminent socialist leader.

His mortal remains will be cremated with full State honour today afternoon at his paternal village Bhanaragarh in Puri district.

Hailed form Bhanaragarh village in Puri district, the leader first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1967 from Puri parliamentary constituency and again re-elected to the 9th Lok Sabha on a Janata Dal ticket from Kendrapara constituency in 1989.
