Odisha Express Displeasure Over Untimely Rath Yatra In Mumbai

People of Odisha are completely agitated over the untimely Rath Yatra celebrations that conducted on the occasion of Basant Panchami by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Mumbai on Thursday.

Rath Yatra is officially a grand celebration at Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha. It is conducted in the month of July. However, ISKON at numerous occasions has celebrated Rath Yatra different to its official date.

On Thursday, a procession was taken out of all the three deities, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra in a single chariot from Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

Earlier too, ISKON had faced opposition from Puri Temple for conducting on different dates considered inauspicious.
