Helpline Numbers For Women Passengers Issued by Commissionerate Police

Safety of women in India has been a question for a long time. Hence, keeping in mind the increasing crimes against women, the Commissionerate Police has issued helpline numbers for women passengers travelling in buses.

Women passengers in distress can now call at 100/ 0674-2543541 and 9437581575 for any assistance. They can also send a text message on WhatsApp number- 9437581575 in case of any inconvenience faced in calling. These numbers are available for passengers travelling in Puri-Bhubaneswar-Cuttack route.

Additionally, the state government has decided to penalise male passengers if found sitting in the seats of female passengers.
