Brown sugar peddling gang caught

A woman from West Bengal and two of her associates have been arrested by The Commissionerate Police from the Laxmisagar area of Bhubaneswar for their alleged involvement in brown sugar peddling.

As per reports, the main accused, Beauty Poddar and her associates were running a brown sugar racket by sourcing the contraband item from Balasore through an agent. A search for Poddar’s brother is still on who is another active member of the group.

Poddar had managed to escape during multiple raids at Haldipadia slum in Bhubaneswar earlier. The Commissionerate Police are now planning to take the main accused into remand to get more information on other agents and their illegal trade network.
