BJD’s Farmers’ Wing to stage dharna on Nov 27 seeking hike of paddy MSP

BJD’s farmers’ wing-paddy MSP hikeInsight Bureau:  Biju Janata Dal Krushak Sammukhya, the farmers’ wing of the ruling party, today announced that it will stage mass dharna in front of the Raj Bhawan on November 27 in protest of Centre’s denial to hike Minimum Support Price (MSP) of paddy, BJD vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra told reporters.

Speaking at the press conference BJD leader Sanjay Kumar Das Burma said that if centre fails to meet their demand by November 27 they will start agitation in all 30 districts.

It is to be noted that in March this year, Odisha Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution appealing to the Centre to hike the MSP of paddy to Rs 2,930 per quintal.
