BJD MP Pratap Deb praises Centre for hike in MSP for Paddy

ONI Bureau:  BJD MP and spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb on Wednesday praised Centre for hike in MSP for Paddy.

The MP said that Central Government’s decision to enhance the Minimum Support Price (MSP) by Rs 200 per quintal is a highest ever increases by any government in the past 15 years.

Pratap Deb further stated that as per the Swaminathan Committee MSP hike should have been increased by further Rs 300 per quintal.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday hiked the minimum support price for paddy by 200 rupees per quintal from Rs 1,550 per quintal to Rs 1,750 while that of Grade A variety by Rs 160 per quintal from 1,590 per quintal to Rs 1,750.
