Abuzz With Excitement, Bhubaneswar Gears Up For Khelo India University Games!

Bhubaneswar is all abuzz with excitement as Khelo India University Games is all set to begin. The Khelo India University Games is yet another empowering initiative of Government of India that will provide a platform to young students to showcase their skills in sports and shine.

After the success of Khelo India Youth Games, the Govt. decided to conduct Khelo India University Games with a vision to promote culture and excellence in competitive sports.

The first edition of the prestigious event will be hosted by Odisha State Government from February 22 to March 1, 2020, at KIIT University. KIIT University is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure with a rich sporting culture. It has had a huge contribution to promote sports and game by producing more than 5000 sports talents in over 30 disciplines in recent years.

Khelo India University Games will witness over 4000 athletes from100 Universities across India vying for top honours in 17 different disciplines namely archery, athletics, boxing, fencing, judo, swimming, weightlifting, wrestling, badminton, basketball, football, hockey, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, rugby and kabaddi. For the first time, students from colleges and universities are participating.

Information Kiosks have already been installed at the railway station and airport for assistance.
