375 Maoist Supporters surrender in Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Sep 18: As many as 375 Maoist supporters of seven villages under Moteru panchayat of the district have surrendered before police today here. The villagers prior to surrendering at the police district headquarter here have taken out a process. They have surrendered in the presence of Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahaptra.

On September 10, around 200 Maoist supporters belong to Purubai, Olarguda, Gumlerguda and Integuda villages had surrendered before police.  It is noteworthy that, not only supporters but also Maoists have been surrendering in the district. One September 5, three hardcore Maoists had given up arms and joined main stream, whereas on August 5, three more Maoists had surrendered before police.  The surrendered villagers alleged their leadership of killing innocent people and deviating from root cause of extremism.
