12-hr Burla Bandh in support of VIMSAR Director Aswini Pujahari

ONI Bureau: Protesting the State Government’s decision to send Director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) Dr Aswini Kumar Pujahari on leave, Burla Sachetana Nagarika Manch observed a 12-hour bandh in the town today.

The manch has demanded re-appointment of Pujahari as the director of VIMSAR till his tenure ends.

While educational institutions, offices, banks and shops remained closed in the area, vehicular movement also stayed off roads in view of the bandh today.

The VIMSAR director had withdrawn from the surgical practices on Friday after the Junior Doctors’ Association of the VIMSAR lodged complaint against him for allegedly using salt as hypertonic saline which contained low sodium on poor patients.
