Veterans Satisfied with OROP, but await Official Note on VRS/PMR

The veterans lead by Major General Satbir Singh expressed satisfaction over the OROP provisions after holding a clarification meeting with Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar tonight. The Defence Minister assured them that there is no VRS in Army and all Pre-matured Retirement (PMR) personnel will come under OROP.

However, the veterans will call off their strike only after getting an official note from the PMO on this issue, which will be issued either tomorrow evening or on Monday.
