Mary Kom wins 5th Gold at Asian Boxing Championship

Insight Bureau:  Ace India boxer Mary Kom on Wednesday defeated North Korea’s Kim Hyang Mi 5-0 in the 48 kg category final of the Asian Women’s Boxing Championships held at Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

Mary Kom is a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion, and the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the six world championships.

Notably, Mary Kom had reached the final after beating Japan’s Tsubasa Komura with 5-0 verdict.
