India win 3rd T20I against New Zealand, win series 2-1

Insight Bureau:  In the battle of nerves, India prevailed over New Zealand in the 3rd T20I and won the series 2-1.

India, which never won a T20 match against the Kiwis, won two matches and registered the first series win over the visitors.

Earlier, New Zealand won the match and opted to bowl first in the rain-affected game that was reduced to 8 overs a side. India managed 67/5 in 8 overs. Manish Pandey (17), Pandya (14*) and Kohli (13) were the top scorers. Southee and Sodhi took two wickets each.

Chasing a victory target of 68, New Zealand kept losing wickets at regular intervals and finished at 61/6 in 8 overs to lose the match by 6 runs. Grandhomme remained unbeaten on 17. For India, Bumrah took two wickets.
