India bounce back in Kolkata Test

India-Sri-LankaInsight Bureau: After a meek surrender to the Sri Lankan pace attack in the first innings, owing to weather conditions, Team India bounced back strongly in the second innings in Kolkata Test, which is heading towards a draw.

In reply to India’s 172, Sri Lanka bowled out for 294 in the first innings. Thirimanne (51), Mathews (52) and Rangana Herath (67) were the top scorers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami took 4 wickets each. Umesh Yadav took 2 wickets.

In the second innings, Indian openers gave a very good start and added 166 runs for the first wicket. Shikhar Dhawan missed out on a well deserved hundred, as he was out for 94. Lokesh Rahul remains unbeaten on 73, as India finished Day 4 at 171/1, leading by 49 runs.
