India beat South Africa in final of ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier

Indian Women CricketIndia beat South Africa by one wicket in the final of ICC Women World Cup Qualifier 2017 at the P. Sara Stadium, Sri Lanka on Tuesday evening. India surpassed the target of 245 runs on the last ball of the 50th over.

Batting first, South Africa was bowled out for 244 runs in 49.4 overs. M du Preez scored 40, highest score for her country. For India, Rajeshwari Gayakwad claimed three wickets, while Shikha Pandey took two wickets.

While chasing, Deepti Sharma was the highest scorer with 71 runs while Mona Meshram made 59 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten at 41.

Both teams had already booked their berths in this year’s ICC World Cup. India is the only unbeaten team in the tournament.
