Exit Polls on assembly polls have sent a mixed verdict. There is no clarity and everyone is predicting a different outcome. While Axis My India predicted a two-third majority for BJP in Uttar Pradesh, CVoter has hinted at the possibility of a Hung Assembly.
According to CVoter, BJP may become the single largest party, but will be short of majority. The party is expected to win 161 seats in the 403-member UP Assembly. The Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance may end up winning 141 seats, while Mayawati’s BSP could win 87 seats. Even Mumbai Bookies have predicted similar results with 150 seats to BJP, 130 seats to SP+Congress and 90 to BSP.
CVoter has also given a big thumbs up to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab. As per its estimates, AAP would win 63 seats in the 117-member Assembly. The Congress would finish second with 45 seats, while the SAD-BJP combine would be wiped out by winning just 9 seats, says the survey.
