Villager files FIR against 5 for collecting money to help Abdur Rehman

maulana-abdul-rehmanAn FIR was today filed by a resident of Sainpada village against five persons who were forcibly collected money for helping al-Qaeda operative Abdur Rehman.

Notably, five persons threatened Sheikh Tahimir Ali of Saipada village to give Rs 50,000 for Rehman.

In this connection, Salepur SDPO PK Jena said a FIR has been lodged and the truth behind the allegations will be confirmed after the investigation.

Rehman, a resident of Paschimakachha in Cuttack was arrested from Tangi in Cuttack on December 16, last year by the joint team of Odisha Police and Delhi Police Special Cell.

Earlier, on June this year Crime Branch sources said that Rehman has accepted that he is linked to Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and many other terrorist groups.
