Supreme Court accepts Odisha’s Petition on Polavaram Project

The Supreme Court on Friday accepted the petition filed by the Government of Odisha against the Polavaram project in Andhra Pradesh, which was declared as a national project.

In this regard, the Supreme Court asked the Andhra Pradesh Government and the Centre to file a reply in four weeks.

It should be noted here that, both Odisha and Chhattisgarh Governments have been opposing the Polavaram project as the project will submerge numbers of forest lands, villages in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
