SUM Hospital Owner Manoj Nayak surrenders before Police

The Chairman of the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, Manoj Nayak on Thursday surrendered before Khandagiri Police in Bhubaneswar.

Nayak surrendered to police taking moral responsibility for the deadly fire that killed 21 people in SUM Hospital on Monday evening.

The Commissionerate Police have already arrested four persons in connection with the fire mishap.

Reportedly, the SUM hospital has no fire safety certificate and only three private hospitals in Odisha including Apollo, Kalinga and AMRI hospital, out of more than 568 private hospitals and nursing homes meet safety standards.
