Subarnarekha in spate: Flood alert in Balasore, Mayurbhanj Districts

SubarnarekhaHeavy rain due to low pressure in the last two-three days has led to floods in the river Subarnarekha in Odisha.

The release of excess water from Galudih barrage in Jharkhand created high flood in the Subarnarekha basin area, affecting lives of around four lakh people of Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts.

The water level in the river has crossed the danger mark as it is flowing at 10.94 metre, where danger level is 10.36 metre.

Odisha government has declared high alert and Collectors of two districts have been directed to review their preparedness to tackle any flood situation.
