President Mukherjee sacks NIT Rourkela Chairman Vasantha Ramaswamy

The President of India on Friday expelled NIT Rourkela Board of Governors’ Chairperson Vasantha Ramaswamy.

The development followed the recommendation of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

Reportedly, the move came after she refused to tender her resignation voluntarily although former NIT-R Director Prof SK Sarangi tendered his resignation as per the direction of the MHRD.
