Opposition says White Paper is not based on facts

Home dept-WhitepaperThe White Paper prepared by the Home department was tabled in the Assembly on Tuesday. It claimed that the law and order situation in the state was peaceful during 2015-16.

But the opposition parties alleged that the assessment by the state government is far from the reality. There is a complete breakdown of peace and order in Odisha.

Crime and rape cases have increased during 2015-16. Thousands of cases of crime were registered and remain pending.

Narasingha Mishra, Leader of the opposition party said that the Whitepaper should reflect the real picture of the state. Criminals are not getting punishment for their crime. So they are doing the same crime again and again.

Odisha BJP President Basant Panda also said that the White Paper should present the detailed facts. The details of all crimes happening in the state should get a place in it.
