Odisha Tourism Department draws Flak for promoting Sarathi Baba

The Department of Tourism & Culture in Odisha, has come under the scanner for promoting Baba Sarathi’s Ashram and his empire through official signage. Minister Ashok Panda owes an answer to the people of Odisha today about who and why took this decision to give free promotion at the taxpayer’s money.

The signboard placed at Tinimuhani square in Kendrapara shows the direction and distance to Srimad Sarathi Mandir, which is the ashram of Sarathi Baba at Barimula. The signage has Odisha Tourism log on on both corners. The signboard gives a false impression with the slogan “Odisha Tourism Welcomes You” and then “Srimad Sarathi Mandir” below.

Now, it’s clear that Sarathi Baba had patronage of many ruling party MLAs as well as the Ministers who have been the part of the government and system for long. Whether the signage was installed during the tenure of Minister Ashok Panda or earlier.
