Odisha Govt to provide RuPay Card to 11.40 lakh Farmers by March

The Odisha Government has set a target to provide RuPay card to 11.40 lakh farmers by March this year, informed by Cooperation Minister Damodar Rout.

This steps has been taken following the announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convert Kisan Credit Card to RuPay cards.

RuPay is an Indian domestic card scheme launched by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on 26 March 2012. RuPay is a combination of two words rupee and payment.

Notably, the cooperative banks have been asked to extend financial support for RuPay cards and installation of Micro ATMs to support cashless payment.
