Odisha Congress calls for Dhikkar Divas on June 10

congThe Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee will observe ‘Dhikkar Divas’ across all 314 blocks of the State on June 10 in the term of failures and corruption of the Center and the State Government.

Addressing in a public meeting at Bhawanipatna under Kalahandi district, PCC President Prasad Harichandan alleged against the Naveen government and Modi government indifference towards Odisha .

The Leaders alleged that the Medical College at Jaring here has been closed, the proposed Agriculture University in Kalahandi is still in papers, University status to Autonomous Govt College, Bhawanipatna has not materialized and the proposed Railway Wagon maintenance factory at Narla was shifted to Visakhapatnam due to negligence.

Above 200 distressed farmers had committed suicide in the state. Poverty paralyzing the farmers and gradually farmers distancing from agriculture and migrating to earn livelihood. BJD government does not even have sympathy for the deceased farmers as it refuses to admit cases of farmers suicide due to loan burden and crop failure, the leaders said.

Former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das, General Secretary in-charge B K Hariprasad, OPCC president Prasad Harichandan and including other Congress leaders of Odisha were present in the public meeting. Congress leader Pradeep Majhi and former minister Jagannath Patnaik also addressed the gathering.
