Odisha CM reviews Crop Loss due to Low Pressure Rains

Naveen Patnaik-Review Meeting on Crop lossInsight Bureau: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday chaired a meeting on crop loss due to low pressure rains in parts of Odisha.

While reviewing the rain situation, Patnaik directed the officials of different departments to work in coordination to tackle the situation.

The CM asked the concerned officers to monitor the rain situation and make all necessary arrangements for the safekeeping of the paddy crop of farmers.

Patnaik advised the farmers to harvest their Ripe paddy and move their harvested paddy to safety locations.

Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and Development Commissioner were also present at the meeting.

Farmers are in fear of harvested Kharif paddy crops due to the unseasonal rain and hailstorm in the State as Met office predicted heavy rains due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal till November 17 in many parts of Odisha.
