Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed to the Panchayati Raj Department to construct more 2,000 km concrete roads under the Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana in rural villages by March 2017.
The Panchayati Raj Department will construct concrete roads in particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) and SC-infested villages on a priority basis.
An amount of Rs 1,000 crore has been allocated for the Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana during the current year 2016-17, officials said.
