Met predicts less impact of Cyclone ‘VARDAH’ on Odisha
The low pressure which was formed over south Andaman Sea will have less impact on Odisha, the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.
The cyclonic storm named ‘VARDAH’ is expected to move towards north-west direction and head towards Andhra Pradesh coast.
The system is likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during next 24 hours.
Under its influence, the Machhlipatnam in Andhra Pradesh and its nearby areas will experience heavy rainfall in next 48 hours.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea along and off Andhra Pradesh coast from
10th December onwards. The fishermen out at sea are advised to return to the coast by 10th December 2016.
