Maoists warn Tribals to stop cultivating or leave the Village in Malkangiri

The Maoists have started disrupting the agrarian activities of the poor tribals, who do not support their violent activities, in Malkangiri district of Odisha.

The Naxalites had started to adopt new strategies in Mathili block, bordering Chhattisgarh, which is a strategic location for naxalites in Malkangiri district. They have targeted tribals in three panchayats of Mathili block, namely Salimi, Temurupalli and Kartanpalli.

The Maoists are threatening tribals to stop the cultivation process or leave the village and get ready to face dire consequences, said by Mitrabhanu Mohapatra, Superintendent of Police, Malkangiri.
