Maoists call bandh in Kalahandi and Rayagada; Normal Life cripples

Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: Normal life in Kalahandi and Rayagada  was crippled following bandh called by Maoists outfit on Tuesday. Maoists belonging to Bansadhara-Ghumusar- Nagabali division of CPI (Maoist) called bandh in the two districts protesting against fake encounter by police in February in Rayagada.

Shops, commercial establishments and educational institutions were remained closed due to bandh. Vehicle movement came to standstill in many parts in the duo district.  Many commuters stranded at various blocks in the district due the strike.

In February, a trial youth was gunned down by police, which the Maoists termed cold blooded act by the errant cops. As per reports, Dangaria Kandh a local youth was killed in police encounter in Rayagada. The family members of the deceased had demanded stern action against cops those were involved in the encounter.
