Mahanadi Row: NGT slams Odisha, Chhattisgarh Govt as they fail to appear

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) slammed Odisha and Chhattisgarh Government as they failed to appear before the NGT court on Thursday, fixed for a hearing on the Mahanadi row.

However, Ministry of Environment and Forests and Ministry of Water Resources reportedly appeared before NGT today.

The two defendants including both the Ministries were reportedly asked to present their side in next hearing fixed on April 10.

Notably, admitting a petition filed by Sudarsan Das, a social activist, who had pointed issues in sharing of Mahanadi river water, the NGT directed government agencies to respond.
