Mahanadi Row: Congress calls Odisha Bandh today

The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has called for a 12-hour Odisha bandh today protesting against the unilateral construction of barrages by the Chhattisgarh government in the upper catchment area of Mahanadi River.

OPCC President Prasad Harichandan urged the people to make the bandh a success across the State.

Meanwhile, the High Court bar, traders’ association, bus owners and other associations have supported the bandh call said OPCC President.

Normal life is disrupted in several parts of the state. Almost all Government offices, educational institutions, shops are remained closed across the state. The party members staged road blockades by burning tyres and held rail roko agitation at many railway stations.
