Freedom Fighters’ Day Mahotsav to be held in Bhubaneswar on Jan 2

Freedom Fighters' Day MahotsavHundreds of senior citizens, who took part in freedom struggle, from the state and outside will assemble at the India Freedom Fighters’ Day Mahotsav going to be held in Bhubaneswar on January 2, 2017.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the Mahotsav and Freedom fighter Bhabani Charan Patnaik will take over the meeting.

During the Mahotsav held on January 2, 2016. Freedom fighters of the state last year demanded one per cent reservation for their children in the education sector and revision of their allowance.

State Government gives monthly pension of Rs 5,000 to each freedom fighter while the Centre has given them Rs 19,000 each.
