East Coast Railway announces more Summer Specials Trains
With a view to clearing additional rush of passengers and also providing comfortable journey to the commuters during Summer Season 2016, East Coast Railway has decided to run three additional pairs of trains towards Kolkata from Puri & Bhubaneswar apart from 09 pairs of weekly & bi-weekly summer special trains declared in March 2016 towards different destinations of the country from its jurisdiction by creating a number of additional berths. These apart, a number of long distance Summer Special Trains are also running through ECoR for the benefit of the passengers.
Puri-Santragachi Special Train: 08403 Puri-Santragachhi Special train will leave Puri at 2125hrs on every Friday and will reach at Santragachhi at 0645hrs on the next days between 6th May to 24th June 2016. In the return direction, 08404 Santragachhi-Puri train will leave Santragachhi at 1900hrs on every Saturday and will arrive at Puri at 0400hrs on the following days between 7th May to 25th June 2016.
Puri-Howrah Shatabdi Special Train: 02278 Puri-Howrah Shatabdi Special train will leave Puri at 0545hrs on every Wednesday and will reach at Howrah at 1340hrs on the same day between 11th May to 1st June 2016. In the return direction, 02277 Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Special train will leave Howrah at 1425hrs on every Wednesday and will arrive at Puri at 2200hrs on the same day during the period.
Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Special Train: 02074 Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Special train will leave Bhubaneswar at 0600hrs on every Sunday and will reach at Howrah at 1240hrs on the same day between 8th May to 29th May 2016. In the return direction, 2073 Howrah-Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Special train will leave Howrah at 1325hrs on every Sunday and will arrive at Bhubaneswar at 2010hrs on the same day during the period.
To clear the Summer rush, East Coast Railway is running Bhubaneswar-Krishnarajpuram bi-weekly SUVIDHA , Sambalpur-Yesvantpur weekly SUVIDHA, Puri-Santragachhi (Howrah) weekly SUVIDHA, Puri-Shalimar Weekly AC Special, Visakhapatnam-Krishnarajpuram bi-weekly SUVIDHA, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad weekly SUVIDHA, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati weekly SUVIDHA trains from its jurisdiction.
Apart from these, a number of long distance trains are also running through East Coast Railway jurisdiction during this summer period according to the feasibility and demands from the passengers by creating more berths from ECoR. Important regular trains have been planned to be augmented with additional coaches during the period by creating additional berths. Based on an analysis of the Passenger Traffic Profile on various routes, permanent augmentation of coaches in Mail/Express trains is being done by attaching more coaches.
