Centre condones Odisha Govt’s delay in submitting Crop Yield Data for Kharif 2015

The Centre on Thursday condoned Odisha Govt’s delay of four and a half months in submission of yield data based on Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) for Paddy Crop for Kharif 2015.

The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh informed that the yield data was submitted by the State Government to the Agriculture Insurance Company of India (AIC) only on 10th August, 2016 after the delay of around four and half months against cut-off date 31st March, 2016.

Response of the State Government which has been received only on 24th October has been examined and it has been decided to condone the delay in submission of yield data.

Earlier on Wednesday, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has urged the Centre to release Rs 795.31 crore rupees to settle insurance claims of farmers affected by drought in 2015 kharif season.
