BJD to celebrate 19th Foundation Day today
Admist all tussles with the opposition parties over BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena’s alleged sex scandal, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is all set to celebrate its 19th foundation day on Monday.
BJD President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to address the gathering at the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar today at around 11.30 am.
The party has decided to hold various developmental programmes at block, district and State levels.
Notably, the party was founded on 26 December 1997. BJD won nine seats in the 1998 general election and Naveen Patnaik was named the Minister for Mines.
