Bhasha Andolan, Day 13: Debendra Das joins Protest March

Bhass_1Debendra Prasad Das (Deba Bhai), who has been working for the revival and promotion of Odia language for over 40 years, has joined the Bhasha Andolan on the 13th day of protest. He along with others took part in the silent black flag march yesterday and vowed to continue his fight.

“I have been a complete Odia since 1965 ever since I took the oath to write, speak and follow Odia language wherever I go or stay. I will continue to do so and urge others to follow suit,” he said.

Apart from Debendra Das, Consumer Protection Activist Pradeep Pradhan, Professor Jantrana Parikshit and youth leader Sudhir Rout participated in the black flag march, which began from Odisha Assembly and concluded at Madhu Babu’s statue at the Governor’s Square.

Bhass_4Other than these four eminent personalities, many others such as Subhas Chandra Pattanayak, Pradyumna Satpathy, Tusarkanta Satpathy, Pabitra Maharatha, Sagar Satapathy, Dr. Nityananda Patnaik, Kaliprasad Samantray, Subhash Chandra Pradhan, Pabitra Mohan Samal, Ajay Jena, Rajsekhar Laha, Rakesh Kumar Sahu, Bhimeswar Prasad, Sudam Patnaik, Rajyavardhan Jena, Bibhuti Bhushan Das, Kishore Paikaray, Gajanan Mishra and Sachi Kant Pradhan were present during the protest march.
