19 Naxals gunned down in Odisha-Andhra Joint Operation in Malkangiri Dist

MaoistsAs many as 19 maoists were killed in a joint operation of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh police forces in between Ramgurha and Panasaputa in the cut-off areas of Malkangiri district in Odisha at the wee hours of Monday.

Hardcore maoist leader Gajarla Ravi alias Uday is among those who killed during the hour-long combing operation.

A lot of arms, ammunitions and weapons, including 3 AK-47, 5 SLR and 303 rifles were recovered from the encounter site. The search and combing operations which started last night are still going on in the area.

Two Greyhound jawans of Andhra Pradesh were reportedly injured and 3 top Commanders gunned down during the operation, sources said. The death toll of maoists may rise after complete search operation of the area. More details are awaited.
