Over 1300 Teams to participate in Biju Patnaik Rural Hockey Championship

With an aim to inspire rural youth to pick up hockey, former India hockey captain and Rajya Sabha MP Dilip Tirkey is going to organize one of the biggest rural hockey tournaments ‘Biju Patnaik Rural Hockey Championship’ is going to be held in Rourkela on Saturday. The Championship will be conducted by the State Government.

More than 1300 teams and 25000 players from the rural areas of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand will exhibit their skills in this grand tournament.

Vice President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari will inaugurate the event on 10th December in Rourkela.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram will also scheduled to attend the mega event.
