Mishap averted between SpiceJet and IndiGo at Ahmedabad Airport

An on ground collision between a Spicejet aircraft and an Indigo airlines flight was averted at Ahmedabad airport on late Friday evening.

A SpiceJet flight had to abort take-off at the last minute as the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) personnel noticed that an IndiGo plane could not clear the runway due to the presence of rabbits on the airstrip.

The ATC instructed the SpiceJet aircraft to stop the take-off and to hold its position just before the aircraft was on the verge of gaining critical velocity.

The SpiceJet’s Delhi-bound aircraft was carrying 142 passengers on board whereas Indigo plane has not revealed the details of the number of passengers on the plane.
