Mecca (Mina) Stampede: 14 Indians confirmed Dead, 13 Injured

While the death toll in yesterday’s stampede in Mina at Mecca during the ‘Stoning of Satan’ rituals, has gone up to 717, the MEA has confirmed 14 Indian casualties. The Indian Government has released the names and details of 14 deceased Indians along with 13 injured. As the information is still being collected, the death toll may rise further.

Out of the dead, 9 are from Gujarat, while two each are from Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu. One deceased is from Maharashtra.

“Our Consul General Jeddah reports loss of 14 Indian lives in stampede. We have 13 injured in hospital. The exact number will be known after confirmation by Saudi authorities,” tweeted Sushma Swaraj.
