Former Punjab CM Surjit Singh Barnala passes away at 91

Former Punjab Chief Minister Surjit Singh Barnala passed away today following prolonged illness. He was 91.

Barnala was admitted in PGIMER, Chandigarh recently where he breathed his last.

He had remained Governor of Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The former Union Minister was also involved in the Quit India Movement of 1942.
