BJP wins all 3 Graduate MLC Seats in Uttar Pradesh

The Bharatiya Janata Party has made a victory in all three graduates Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) seats from Kanpur, Gorakhpur and Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. However, 2 teacher MLC seats were bagged by independent candidates.

The polling for the same was held on February 6, 2017. Initially the elections were held on February 3rd, however, the polls were declared invalid due to an error in the ballot paper.

Voting in Uttar Pradesh is being held in 73 Assembly Constituencies in the first of the seven-phase UP Polls.
