Rapid Loading System inaugurated at JSPL, Barbil

In bid to increase of efficiency of its material handling, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has installed a Rapid Loading System at its Pelletisation Complex, Barbil. It has been inaugurated by General Manager, South Eastern Railway Mr. SN Agrawal on January 06, 2017 (Friday) in presence of DRM (Chakradharpur) Mr. Rajendra Prasad and President & Unit Head, JSPL Barbil T.S Shanbhogue.

The Rapid Loading System will improve the material handling capacity of JSPL by accelerating the rake loading speed. “The Rapid Loading System of 48000 MT per day will enhance JSPL’s efficiency of handling raw material and product despatch. The increased efficiency will also help in saving cost and time, thus boosting overall competence of JSPL,” said Mr. TS Shanbhogue, President & Unit Head, JSPL Barbil.

With this new Rapid Loading System, the time for rake loading will be reduced by one – third. Instead of three hours, one rake can be loaded in just one hour only. The system is more environment friendly  and will help in managing overloading.

On the occasion, Vice President Mr. VCS Rao, AVP (Logistics) Mr. GB Mishra, AVP (HR) Alok Malhotra, AVP (Electrical) RK Mohanty, AVP (Finance) Manas Dash and other senior officials of South Eastern Railway and JSPL were present.

JSPL has established the biggest pellet making complex at Barbil. It consists two units of 4.5 MTPA capacity each.
