Odisha: JSPL, Barbil holds Blood Donation Camp, 144 Units Collected

JSPL-Barbil-Blood-DonationBarbil, June 28: A mega blood donation camp has been organised by Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL)’s Barbil unit with collection of 144 units of blood. Thus camp organised in partnership with Indian Red Cross Society & Blood Bank, Keonjhar at the Shopping Complex Community Hall, Deojhar on June 26, 2015 got active participation from JSPL Employees, their family members, security personnel, contract workers, officials of OP Jindal School and members of Jindal Mahila Samiti.

This mega blood donation camp kick started after donation of blood by Shri T.S. Shanbhogue, EVP & Unit Head of JSPL Barbil. Other Senior Officials of the Company namely Shri G. Suresha (VP- Operations), Dr. R C Rout (Head- EMD), Shri Alok Malhotra (Head – HR & ES), Shri S S Pattnailk ( AGM – HR&ES), Shri S Bansal ( GM-Commercial),  Shri Praful Kumar (AGM – HR & ES), Dr K P Behera (Head – Medical) & Shri Vargil Lakra (Head – CSR) also donated blood and encouraged the voluntary donors.

“Such mega camps, especially in time of summer when the blood collection is very low will be very useful for the district blood bank,” said the officials from the District Blood Bank, Keonjhar. They appreciated the efforts of the company in making the camp a huge success, despite the state wide bandh observed by soe people. The programme was organised and assisted by the CSR and Medical departments of JSPL.
