Jindal Vidyapeeth, Angul holds 5th Annual Athletic Meet

Jindal-School2Angul, January 13th, 2015: The Two-day long 5th Annual Athletic Meet of Jindal Vidyapeeth, culminated this evening by leaving lots of smile and joy on the faces of the students of the school, situated at Badamahitala R&R colony of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd., Angul.

This extravaganza was kicked off at 9 am yesterday by hoisting of school flag by the Chief Guest Dr. Saroj Kumar Mahapatra, VP- HR & ES, JSPL and followed by welcome speech by the School Head-Mistress Mrs. Deepti Rekha, rendition of school song by the students, a torch rally and march past by the pupils and ended today in presence of District Sports Officer Mr.Mahendra Kumar Sahu as Chief-Guest of the programme along with other eminent personalities like Mr. S. K Sharma, AVP, CSR&R and others.

Attending the event as Chief Guest, Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sahu said, “if there is no competition then there is no scope for progress in life and sports is such a thing which gives every individual an opportunity to learn how to excel in life. I urge each and every student to take sports as one of their subject and practice regularly”.

Jindal-School1It was a spectacular moment for the huge gathering of parents, school staff and pupils of this locality.  As 250 number of students from across the classes, participated in various events like Running, Long Jump, Discus Throw, Skipping, etc. And, won different prizes in respective categories.

Besides the athletic events, the students also presented various items including Yoga, Pyramid, Aerobic exercise etc for the entertainment of the huge gathering of parents, teachers and students.

Among the other dignitaries who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour were Mr. Rishikesh Dehury, President School Management Committee, Mr. C.K Mitra, VP Mines, Mrs. Pushpalata Satapathy, DGM CSR, Mr. Manoj Jha, AGM-CSR.

Specially Krushna Kumar, PET of Jindal Vidyapeeth, Tapas Kumar Mohanty, Sports Co-ordinator JSPL, Sunita Dwibedi and Srikant along with all the Teaching, Non-teaching staff of Jindal Vidyapeetha and the support of team CSR of JSPL coordinated the function to a grand success.
