Amway Indicus India Entrepreneurship Report 2014 unveiledBhubaneswar, May 14: FICCI Orissa State Council has organized an entrepreneurship Round Table in Bhubaneswar today. Christened “Simplifying Entrepreneurship through Shared Actions,” the Round table aims at promoting entrepreneurship opportunities in the state of Odisha with recommendations and active participation of State Government and other stakeholders. The primary purpose of the round table was to stimulate an informed deliberations to initiate a process to develop the broad contours and strategies required for promotion of enterprises especially in MSME sector which is going to lead the industrialization drive of Odisha. The round table witnessed efforts from stakeholders in identifying a viable business opportunity and access to finance based on the success of the round table FICCI Odisha will take other key factors for debate.

The Round Table witnessed presence of ShriPanchanan Dash, Secretary, MSME, Government of Odisha and VivekPattanayak, IAS, Chair, MSME Panel, FICCI Odisha State Council. The keynote address was delivered by Shri PanchananDash , Secretary, MSME, Govt of Odisha spoke on spotting opportunities for enterprises and state government’s initiatives.

On this occasion, Shri Panchanan Dash, Secretary, MSME, Govt of Odisha has unveiled “Amway Indicus India Entrepreneurship Report 2014” in Bhubaneswar today.

Mr. John Khiangte, Senior Policy Analyst, Amway India has presented Amway-Indicus Analytics’ India Entrepreneurship Report 2014 at the round table and highlighted the key features of the report. The seminar also witnessed speakers like Pulak Kumar Sinha,General Manager(NW-1) State Bank of India, Mr.B P. Samantaray, Circle Head, & convener SLBC, UCO Bank, Subhransu Acharya, Deputy General Manager, SIDBI.

While delivering his keynote speech, Shri Panchanan Dash, Secretary, MSME, Government of Odisha has said that Odisha Government is coming up with innovative solutions so that entrepreneurs in MSME Sector can operate without any hassle. “The entrepreneurs do not need to visit any circle office rather they can sit home and made application online and all necessary processes online.” said Mr. Dash. He further said that MSME department has created with an online portal where MSME companies can upload their innovative products and it will work as marketplace for them and connect them to sellers. He also said that single window clearance of state govt will work in full swing from July onwards.

 

Amway India has for the first time published the India Entrepreneurship Report 2014 in association with Indicus Analytics. The Report seeks to assess the entrepreneurial eco-system in India by looking at various factors that determine confidence level among individuals in starting business in various parts of the country. The India Entrepreneurship Report aims to showcase what drives entrepreneurship in India and take part in public discussions to facilitate the growth of self-employment in the country.

The report ranks Indian states on entrepreneurial confidence and readiness.The report, based on the perceptions of cross-section of entrepreneurs spread across the country, offers interesting data-backed insights on the ability, capability and preparedness of various states to nurture entrepreneurial initiative.

Amway has already published Global Entrepreneurship Report in 2013 and came out with second edition in 2014. The direct selling FMCG Company has been also publishing Amway European Entrepreneurship Report since 2011. The India Entrepreneurship Report by Amway has been an important information and reference point for Entrepreneurship.

The data used for index computation was collected through a primary survey of over 5000 respondents across 20 states and 50 cities across India, including Odisha. The sample respondents comprised new entrepreneurs who started their ventures within a year of the study as well as general population. The study introduces two indices that measure entrepreneurial promise across states. The first (Current Entrepreneurial Confidence index) represents where states stand, at present, when it comes to hosting entrepreneurial activity – as viewed through the eyes of their residents.The second one(Future Entrepreneurial index), reflects states’ preparedness and potential, in the coming years, in terms of encouraging future entrepreneurship.

According to the report, Odisha as a state has immense potential to develop itself as an enterprise friendly state with support from State Government and other financial institutions. The state is in aspire position in terms of Entrepreneurial attitude index.
